Tim Fowler

Biography

Tim Fowler is known for his vibrant, semi-abstract large-scale works that explore texture, tone, and emotion. Using bold colors and dynamic materials like oil, acrylic, spray paint, and graffiti inks, he builds compositions through instinctive mark-making, layering, and deconstruction.

Influenced early on by the work and legacy of Jean-Michel Basquiat, Fowler pursued art seriously from a young age, later earning a BA in Fine Art. His creative process is physical and intuitive, often requiring unconventional tools and methods to achieve his signature energy and movement on canvas.

Themes in his work range from skulls—used as ‘default portraits’ to strip identity and focus on energy—to tropical flora inspired by banana plants and his Caribbean heritage. His acclaimed “Memento Mori – 100 Skulls” project saw him sell 100 paintings in just two hours.

Fowler has exhibited internationally, with collectors including Touchlight Genetics, BT, Mahalia, and the New Walk Museum in Leicester.
